To submit a link or article
Click on the relevant link on the navigation panel. Choose the most appropriate category from the list. Enter the text (you can cut and paste from a text editor). When we receive the submission, we need to approve it before it appears on the website, so it might take a day or two depending on how awake we are. We reserve the right to edit the submission if necessary.
To submit a photograph
There doesn't seem to be a function on the website to submit photos, so send them by email. We can accept images only in .jpg format. Please – for the sake of my inbox – consider the size and quality of your photos!
Sizing of digital images.
- Consider cropping the image to remove any irrelevant bits.
- The image should be resized to 800 x 600 pixels. This can be done in any image editing software such as Photoshop. (Work in pixels, not size in centimetres, or image resolution in dpi - they are both irrelevant when viewing on-screen).
- Save the file as a .jpg with around 50% compression (about level 6 in Photoshop, depending on the resolution settings of your camera). This should give a good quality image of about 100KB in size. Image files should be no more than 120KB in size on the disk.
- If this is all too much for you then contact me (webmaster@paedpath.org) and I'll see what I can do!
For high quality images
Think about:
- composition – does it show what I want it to show – crop if necessary
- exposure – is it too dark or too light
- colour balance
- focus
Again, the admins reserve the right to edit photos.
